An Intimate Micro Wedding at the Madonna Inn

When I'm contacted by a couple who starts the conversation out with something like "So, our wedding is going to be a little bit different..."  I honestly get goosebumps - the good kind, of course!  I love when couple's have a clear and unique vision for their wedding, even if that means ditching the white dress and going with a 70's style vibe - which as it turns out is exactly what Dawn and Aaron had planned!  Add in the fact that Dawn was expecting AND Aaron is Jewish, so they wanted to incorporate some of the traditional Jewish Ceremony traditions and I was already in LOVE with their vision!

Of course the Madonna Inn was the perfect choice for this wedding.  It's slightly off-beat and kitschy vibe worked seamlessly with Dawn and Aaron's vision.  This was going to be a true celebration with a slightly vintage theme, and the Madonna Inn has "celebration" and "unique" written all over it as a wedding venue.  From the little touches to the many family and friends supporting them, this day was bound to be perfection.

The "Girl's" opted to get ready in Baywood Park at a family home, so that's where our adventure started.  Even though Dawn couldn't partake, Mimosa's were flowing during hair and makeup and these girls were more than ready to lean in to the 70's theme with unconventional Bridesmaids dresses and makeup to match.

Once the "Girls" were completely ready, it was off to the Madonna Inn's Secret Garden for the amazing ceremony.  If you haven't been there, this  place is gorgeous - think flowers, trees, a pond and so many vibrant colors!  The sun seems to shine just right on this space at pretty much any time of day, make for stunning imagery (and a respite from the heat if the celebration happens to be in the summer).

Dawn and Aaron said "I Do" in front of their closest family and friends.  They decided on a mirco wedding because they didn't want the stress and over the top planning of a big wedding, but still wanted to spend quality time with their favorite people - they chose the happiest of mediums!

Because the wedding was in August, it meant that the entire reception could also be held in the Secret Garden, as the weather was absolutely perfect!  They had a fabulous dinner and even set up a little dance floor so that everyone could groove to a 70's playlist late in to the evening.  This is what I love the most about intimate micro weddings - you can do the "unconventional" things and go a little more over the top because you're only working with a guest list of 40 or 50 people!

I know Dawn and Aaron are going to have a life filled with happiness and love.  They have a seriously amazing support system of incredible friends and family behind them, and their wedding day is definitely going to be one for the history books!
