"Confidence comes from being prepared."

~ John Wooden

Okay Ladies, here they are...the 7 tips that I give to every Boudoir Client before their session.  Helping you prepare for your amazing, empowering and life changing Boudoir Session is one of my favorite things to do.  When you book with me, you aren't just getting a photography session - ask any of my amazing clients and they will tell you that I LOVE to send a barrage of emails to them prior to their sessions, and a lot of these will help you with Session Prep.  I've worked very hard to create a "Perfect Planning Guide" to preparing for your session, because I want you to feel confident that you are going to KILL IT when you get into the studio!  In addition to my guide, which you will recieve after booking and prior to your session, here's a few other things to get my Central Coast Beauties ready for their amazing Sessions!

1. Hydrate

Yep, it seems simple, but it's something that a lot of us forget to do regularly.  We get busy, stressed, anxious, etc., and we forget to fill our bodies with the water that we need to look and feel our best.  I like to tell my clients to start moisturizing their skin and drinking plenty of water EVERY DAY for at least a week prior to their session.  This is the first time many of my San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County Beauties will have THIS MUCH of themselves photographed, so staying hydrated will keep your whole body and mind feeling in tip top shape!

2. Hands and Feet are IMPORTANT

I know, you're probably worried about your wardrobe, your hair, your makeup...everything except your hands and your feet.  Hands and feet play an important role in your Boudoir Photographs, though.  Take the time to ensure that they look their best.  You won't regret a Mani/Pedi the week of your session (plus, who doesn't like a little bit of extra pampering?).  You will be photographed with your hands in your hair, on your face, on your body, etc., and your feet will be in photographs bare and with your heels.  Taking care to have your nails nicely groomed will make your results all that much better.  Also, remember the soles of your feet...make sure they are moisturized, clean, and that you bring a pair of socks to slip on between wardrobe changes so that they are as clean and smooth as possible.

3. Skin Treatment 411

Everyone wants their skin to be perfect for thier BIG Boudoir Photography Session.  You want that dewy, fresh faced glow.  You want smooth, clear skin that looks amazing.  But don't run off and do anything without proper planning.  If you're planning to do any dermatological proceedures prior to your session, make sure that you do so at least 2 to 3 weeks ahead of time - your body will need time to heal!  From facials to laser treatments, injections or even trying out that amazing new product to "erase fine lines", you don't want to do anything that your body doesn't have time to adjust to properly.  And REMEMBER LADIES, if you get a bruise, a scrape, or even a few of those pesky blemishes that always seem to crop up right before something important...DON'T WORRY, I've got you.  Between my amazing hair and makeup artists and my hand editing skills, I will take care of anything that you are worried about to make your final Boudoir Photographs something that will BLOW YOUR MIND!

4. Hair Removal

If you shave, I recommend doing that two days prior to your session, and if you wax, I recommend two to three days prior to your session.  You want to allow your body time to heal and for any redness to go away before you get into your amazing outfits and start posing like a pro!  Hairy areas can be distracting, and you know your body hair the best.  Pay attention to limbs, face, neck and bikini regions.

5. Eat Before Your Session

Not eating will NOT make you look or feel "skinny" for your Boudoir Portrait Session.  You will be in the studio for over an hour before we ever START taking your photographs, you don't want to be HANGRY!  You are going to be living your best life on the day of your Boudoir Session, and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible.  Don't gourge yourself on a heavy meal (this can lead to feeling bloated), but don't skip a meal either - your body will need fuel, because contrary to what you might think, your Boudoir Session will be a bit of a workout, in the very BEST way!

6. Pack Your Car the Night Before

A lot of my Central Coast Beauties are doing their Boudoir Sessions as gifts for their significant others.  A lot of my amazing Ladies get anxious or nervous before their Sessions.  For these reasons, I always suggest packing your bag and your car the night before.  The last thing that you want the morning of your "VIP Boudoir Escape" is to be running around feeling stressed, and even worse is getting to the studio and realizing that you forgot your favorite pair of heels or that necklace that you really wanted to showcase in your photographs.  Packing your car the night before will allow for a "smooth getaway", whether you're doing this as a surprise for someone else or as an amazing gift to yourself!  Another "Pro-Tip"...if you're doing this as a surprise for someone and they're wondering why you look so AMAZING when you get home...don't fret!  You just won a free hair and makeup tutorial at Sephora or Ulta (don't think you have to wash off your amazing makeup before you get home - instead, USE IT for an amazing evening)!

7. Read All Emails CAREFULLY

Like I said in the beginning, I've taken a lot of time to come up with a "Perfect Planning Guide" and to come up with tons of amazing tips, confidence boosters, etc., that I really want you to take in before your incredible Boudoir Session.  Every email has something new and exciting in it to make you feel more excited and more prepared for your Session.  These aren't just your run-of-the-mill Portraits, these are truly unique, intimate and empowering photographs we will be taking, and I want you to be in the best possible mindset to have your best possible day.  Make sure to follow all the links, visit the Private Ladies Only "Beachfront Babes" group to ask questions from fellow San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County Ladies just like YOU, and ENJOY getting prepared for your session!
