One of the things I love most about Boudoir Photography is that no two women are alike, and yet we all share so many incredible similarities. We all want to feel beautiful, confident, fierce and..."enough". When the elegant "Mrs. D" came in for her Boudoir Session, I knew immediately that she and I were going to get along fabulously. She is a creative with a spunky and quirky flair, but she also exudes a classic elegance that truly makes her shine. In her pre-session questionnaire, Mrs. D had a lot to say about "empowerment", which is exactly why I have found my home in Boudoir Photography.
I would love this opportunity to love my body as it is right now. It is not perfect but it is mine. I have seen so many beautiful boudoir shoots and the women in them seem to come alive and feel sexy and empowered, I want that too!! 2019 has been a year if empowerment for me so far and this would absolutely continue the theme of my year so far. - "Mrs. D"
I think that as women we all need to feel empowered within our own skin. The truth is that no matter how others see us, until we can see ourselves the way that we truly want to, we simply won't feel that confidence. Boudoir photography is more than taking a few "pretty pictures", it's truly a cathardic experience that can absolutely change the way that we relate to ourselves, our partners, and the world around us.
"Mrs. D" also came into the studio with the most amazing outfit choices! You see, Boudoir Photography isn't always about lingerie, sometimes all it takes is a luxurious, emerald green, velvet robe to really make a session come to life!
When "Mrs. D" was finished with her session, I knew that something special had happened. She had a different lightness about her, and it was obvious that her confidence was blossoming. Because no session is complete without a viewing of first-round edited images, we chatted while I worked, and about 30 minutes later it was time to show "Mrs. D" exactly how gorgeous she looked in front of the camera. This is when the real magic always happens...the transformation was complete as she looked at her images. My beautiful, creative, vibrant, spunky and unique client will forever have a set of amazing images to share with her wife and to document this time in her life, and THAT is what gives me, as a Boudoir Photographer, the most joy.
