Logan and Sean’s Downtown San Luis Obispo wedding at The Penny was the perfect blend of chic, urban, and effortlessly cool. As a San Luis Obispo wedding photographer, I love when couples break away from tradition—and these two did exactly that. After meeting at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Logan and Sean chose The Penny SLO because they wanted something modern and unexpected, a total contrast to the typical barn or vineyard wedding venues on the Central Coast.

The day began at Hotel SLO, where the wedding party got ready before turning downtown into their own personal runway—walking together through the streets of SLO with me happily playing the role of paparazzi wedding photographer. Their vision came to life with minimalist, whimsical décor, spring-inspired florals, and Logan’s stunning bohemian wedding dress (plus an adorable short reception dress she changed into later). Add in a dance floor fueled by Taylor Swift love songs, and this Hotel SLO and The Penny wedding was equal parts romantic, stylish, and wildly fun—proof that a modern downtown wedding in San Luis Obispo can be just as magical as any vineyard backdrop.
