When weddings and engagements are your stock in trade as a photographer, you see a lot of couples who are in love. Each and every one of them stand out in a different way. When I met Ryan and Joanna for their Engagement Session on the windswept coastline of Montana de Oro State Park, I knew right away that these two were the "real deal". The way he looked at her, the way she leaned on him...it was all perfect. To top it all off, they brought their family along (being as they are an out of state couple), and what can I say about their entourage except that they made things "fun"! From there began the wait for their amazing wedding, and it was such a joy working with these two along the way. When the day finally arrived, all of the planning paid off. I met up with "the girls" at a beautiful little family owned beach house in Cayucos, where I got to spend some time with the Bride and her family. Ryan arrived and they had the sweetest "First Look" ever! From there, we made our way to Morro Bay. I've photographed many weddings at Windows on the Water, and it's such an amazing little venue. The decorations were fantastic, the staff was amazing, and all of the guests in attendance had such love for Ryan and Joanna that it made things SO very special. The two said thier "I Do's" overlooking the beautiful "Morro Bay", and then we went for a little "walk around town" to take their Bride and Groom Photographs. After an incredible dinner - as is always the case at Windows on the Water - the party started. Let's just say that this was a party to remember - music, dancing, hands in the air, sing-along's, jumping, spinning, and sheer joy throughout. One incredible day to mark the "beginning" of something that I have no doubt will last forever and beyond...congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McDonald!
